Hey guys sorry I havn't checked back for a wile as nobody posted for soo long.
That cocobolo California is really beautiful, a pitty that you had to get rid of it.

Numbers to hand out!
32. l0calh05t I like that finish on your california please post more pics if you get the chance!
33. Don't Panic Great that you finally got it, enjoy it!

As to trujo777, yes there is a diference between the Delano and Sandberg pickups. Before Sandberg used the Dalanos as standard until they started winding theire own pickups.
I really couldn't hear a significant difference between the two (they are quite similar). The Delanos are not really an upgrade, I think you can get them without extra charge. My sandberg is equipped with the ones from sandberg and I'm happy with them.
The electronics are all from Glockenklang.

If you have any further questions please ask, also there are some videos of Sandberg tests on (www.musik-schmidt.de). To get an idea of the Sandberg sound.

Enjoy!

thanks for the response. finally somebody answered my question. now... what would be the price I could expect to pay for that bass i posted pics on on my original question used?

Hey Trujo777.
I think a good price would be around 700 euros, but I'm not quite shure for how much they go usually. You could check on the german ebay (www.ebay.de), search Sandberg and you should get results.
I checked right now and there is a Basic PM on auction, which will finish tomorrow. If you follow on that you might see the end price it goes for. Also usually from time to time they will appear.

l0calh05t those pics are not bad. I really like the oil finish on that JM. It's a real Black' n' Maple Bass.
Enjoy it!

These weren't made with a better camera, but under much better lighting conditions (less noise):

or my personal favourite, a P4 black on black for under a grand in Germany.

If you want a passive sandberg or a specific color scheme just ask your sandberg dealer. Should be no problem. Hey, I even have non-standard electronics, pickups, body shape (P-Style with JM pickups) and finish (satin black without burst) and no pickguard and it only cost me ~1.4k€ in Germany.

That's a pretty cool deal. Through which dealer did you order it?

Musik-Schmidt

That's where I saw the P4 for under a grand.Bad thing is though they don't deliver to Ireland without some ridiculous tax being involved. Our VAT went up to 21.5% while Britain, who is the same recession with us,drop theirs to 15%.Didn't mean to offset the thread by saying I hate our current Minister for Finance  but it the move has certainly affected us all, including purchases of new instruments.:D

Hey Trujo, I hope you had the chance to check the price of that Basic. Unfotunately I missed it, sorry.

To all other Sandberg fans I seriously advise you to check out www.ebay.de from time to time. Right now there are some really nice offers like a custom shop red JM5, very nice looks. Also one of the first sandberg models is on there to, for a good price. Those old models have a Bartolini humbucker with a 3-band EQ and are very interesting.
I also saw a very rare 6-string.

Sadly enough I havn't got any space to store many basses. Would be great if some of you guys could buy some and sell them to me in the future. :)

Enjoy.

Njxt, t'aurais pu m'attendre avant de créer le Sandberg club ! :D
La reine mère, c'est la mienne, ma Sandie adorée !

Here is my beloved 2004 custom shop Sandie (which is the way I call it :D ) :
- alder body with custom finish
- maple neck, rosewood fingerboard
- JB style body, PM pickup configuration (Delano)
- Glockenklang preamp (vol w/ passive mode when pulled, balance, treble, bass)

For some sound, you can check those videos my gf made at my latest gig with her cellphone. It was my first gig with my new band, Scrubbers, only 5 rehearsals before the gig :D
So you may hear some mistakes here and there, please be indulgent ;)
I used Sandie with my Phil Jones Six-Pack and an Ampeg 12' extension, no DI/Mic used, this is the sound of the amp.
Sound is quite good although the mic of the phone didn't get my ghost notes and evens the dynamics.
