Guess I will just have to pay for the Delano upgrade.

I'm awaiting delivery on my California Supreme JM4 - I haven't heard anything about Delano's now being an upgrade and the web site specification for that model still states it being supplied with Delano Pickups.

When I ordered my PM5 in October, Delanos where an option, Sandberg PUs were standard. Maybe on the Supreme the Delanos are still standard.

I,ve just picked up my second Sandberg bass today, a Thinline custom fretless with lined finger board and quilted maple top to match my original custom. Had to wait nearly 6 months for it to arrive......but it has been worth the wait.
The fretted custom is a quilted maple top, birds eye maple board with gloss body and neck for a vintage vibe.
Hope you like them as much as i do.

I only picked it up a few days ago so its sound is very new to me. I can only discribe it as very natural and unlike every fretless I have heard. Most fretless basses IMHO are just fretted instruments with the frets taken off. I know that is a very sweeping statement and is not entirly true but Im sure you get what I mean. The Sandberg Thinline is a completly different design with hollow chambers in the body giving a very woody mid tone...it really took me by surprise when I plugged it in, I almost thought it was a mistake until I stopped judging it by fretted bass sounds.
Can't put it down it sounds so good and its very loud when not plugged in.

Highly recommended to all you fretless lovers.

Ah wonderful! Ive got to have one of those one day, I imagined that the sound was way different to all other fretless, it's the perfect fretless. Well if you can record the sound at some point would be great, I'd love to hear it and missed my oportunity to play one. I regret it badly.

Ah and I see you have a Glockenklang rig, thats just amazing! You have the perfect equipment there!

M = Humbucker(Musicman)

PM= Pbass pickup(prescision) and Humbucker, so the bass has a P bass and Humbucker pickup installed.

JM= Jazz pickup and Humbucker pickup, so the bass has a J pickup and Humbucker pickup installed.
