For shows i use Bass 2:00 Mid 4:00 (sometimes all the way up) and treble- noon. This works great with and overdrive in front, set for more high end.
Recording, forget it, i'm not even sure what we landed on with the eq. But I do know that a) I officially hate the studio and b) the meatsmoke pre, while sounding amazing mic'd, did not shine with the dedicated recording output. Oh well.
I should also mention that the engineer hates any kinda of hair on the bass, be it od, distortion or fuzz. We butted heads the whole time.
edit: This kinda brought me to the idea to possibly sell. For the price, the pedal should be awesome both live and in the studio. But I've come to the conclusion that it's the engineer/producers fault. And sounding amazing live is more than half the battle.
However, I still miss the VT. And when the new DI comes out this May I will most likely buy it, it's only 200 boxes of macaroni. Not bad at all.
