I have another week or two according to Ben before my MS Pre is ready. In the meantime, I have a question for the MS Pre group. If you have a moment, would you listen to these Bogner pedal demos and tell me if they would be redundant with the MS? I am really gassing for that sound, but don't want to waste $300 bones on something the MS will do better. Thanks and Happy Easter.

I really dont think it'll be redundant. That Uber is a SICK sounding pedal! I'd imagine you could get *close* with a B3/7k, some blended fuzz, into the MS Pre on semi-high gain, but unless it's an always-on sound, would you want it to?
I have a B7K. I also have an Eau Claire Thunder and my MS Pre coming. Might flip the Rat Tail for the Uber. I should just wait until the MS gets here and decide if I need more.
Honestly, if I were you, I would wait it out. I've been waiting on my MS rack since Xmas. I know, not as long as some people but still, 3 months is a long time. In those 3 months, I've bought or traded a ton of pedals and amps. I've finally realized I need to chill before I buy/trade for anything else. I have a strong feeling once the MS arrives, I will be selling off most of my pedals (not the amps I just can't part with these). Just my 2 cents

Thanks man. That is kind of what I am thinking. I have done the same thing. I have waited two months, what is another two weeks? Heck, I have waited 14 months for the custom 6 string Bee Bass to get built. Thanks a lot for the wise counsel.
The MSpre will give you heavy tube sound. Yes, it has gain/overdrive, but it's all about the tubes. Any dirt pedal will sound effing awesome through it.
So let's change the subject a little bit... What kind of cabs are you all using?
My main "big gig rig" cab is an Emperor 2x15, but I also have a fEarful 15/6 and a Yorkville 410 that I keep at other jam spaces.
I was also considering picking up one of those new mini Ampeg 2x10s for a little studio recording setup. I figure the MS mic'd up through a 50W tube power amp into a sealed 2x10 should sound pretty rad.

I'm currently refinishing a 1976 ampeg 810 so I can bridge my peavey classic 120/120 for 240 tube watts of smokey meaty power. I have been scoping an old trace 210 on my local CL for a while for smaller applications.

Nice project you have going there Twhite. I'm planning on using my Acoustic 402 (2x15) loaded with JBL K140's. For smaller places I have another Acoustic cab loaded with a JBL E140. Should sound great

You and I must be brothers from another mother - I totally dig the Meatsmoke/Uber Genz match ups. I've got a pair of the Uber 115's, and while I usually just gig with one having them together in my studio is pure sex and ice cream.

I'd love to grab another uber 1x15 and a true MS head to put on top. Leave my SL-900 and Pre as a back up / home rig.
I am truly jealous of your set up. And the fact you're still living in the PNW while I had to move away

I borrowed a buddy's Micro SVT rig for the weekend, and it sounds pretty darn great. I'm going to have to borrow it again once my MS pre comes in, me thinks.

The funny thing is, Dave has me gassing for the Line 6 DL4 for sampling and loops now. I do a lot of textures with my delay, pog2, reverb, etc. It would be nice to have some of those looping and sampling functions for reverberating tap chords and harmonics.
Line 6 DL4 are super sensitive and fragile. They're notorious for breaking, shorting out and die unexpectedly.
I had one. It died in less than 5 minutes out of the box. I haven't replaced it. What it does, it does very well as far as effect is concerned.
Hmm. I will have to find another option. Perhaps the TC Ditto. Between my Flashback and the M5, I have two delay options to pair with it. Thanks for the tip!
Good call. I just picked one up on Thursday and it does exactly what I need. I was fascinated with the half-time and other playback options of the Line 6 unit. In all honesty, I probably don't need that particular option. Love the Ditto.
