Thank you kind Sir! So, first impressions:

1.) The effects loop in the Orange TB500 is not a good fit for the MS. Even at really low gain settings, it kept overdriving the Orange preamp tubes. This is poor design on the part of Orange. I was hoping to keep it clean until the boost was engaged. If I wasn't selling my Mesa, I would pair it with the MS given the effects loop is post EQ. I love the tone of the Orange much more than the Mesa, and it is significantly easier to move around.

2.) I moved the MS to the front of the amp, and it really sang. No issue with the TB preamp being overdriven. I typically have to keep the gain on the TB pretty low to keep the FOH guys at church happy. The MS really adds depth and punch without needing to move my amp gain beyond 1. I may find myself keeping the MS on all the time.

3.) The separate EQ, Gain, and Volume settings for the Boost channel is a great feature. I really love the OD from my Iron Pig and OSD, so I think I will set the boost channel up as more of a dub style EQ. There are always moments during slower parts of songs when I would like to sub out my bass more. I usually pluck the strings near the 14th fret to accomplish this, but it still doesn't sound the way I would like. One click on the MS boost and I am there without a change in volume. Very nice feature. With this setup, the boost is more of a second voicing channel. He could really name the buttons, channel 1 and channel 2. They don't seem to be additive. I will try it out for rehearsal and 3 services this weekend.

Great review sir did you try both the high and low settings on the Meatsmoke when you used the TB's effect loop? I found that running it through my Mesa's loop on low sounded the best and the cleanest.

That was the first thing I tried. The low setting cleaned it up a bit, but it is clear that it belongs in front of this particular amp. I don't really understand an effects loop being pre-EQ. I thought the purpose of an effects loop was to put time based effects into a cleaner channel when using the front of the amp for overdrive. At any rate, I found the sound I was looking for. I'm sure I will be able to tweak this into perfection.

Too be honest, not for the price and wait time. Find a good limiter for less than $100 and try that out and see if you like it. The version I have makes the boost channel very flexible, but $300 and months in waiting seems like a lot to ask. If you really want the flexibility, go for it.
