... i dont have one.... I go to get one....that takes 2 hours.......get back to audere, turns out i dont need a account after all(good thing too, it wouldnt let me have one)...

... TAKES ME TO THE PAYPAL WEBSITE and says 'invaild data'...

In our case we use PayPal to process electronic payments.
But you did not need to attempt to setup the PayPal account.

I made an update to our website late Sunday to make this clearer.
Sorry the timing was bad.

Lots of websites use PayPal even when you do not see it - PayPal is commonly doing the back end processing.
PayPal is starting to do more of the "phone in" payments these days also.

Why will it not let you have a PayPal account???

FYI - We take mailed in payments.

alright everyone....I have a question, would I be able to route a cavity for the kahler with a dremel w/ routing base attached?

I dont trust myself with a router, and theres no one around here who I trust with my bass...


or should I just practice using a router?

If you're going to do it yourself. i'd practice routing a hell of a lot first....like every day for a month for hours a day.

I'd get a luthier to do the job myself cos wood work is not my thing

You may want to post that Dremel question in the Luthiers Corner forum - I think the answer is "no" because it's underpowered but you should doublecheck.

if you are really wanting to go for Tim C.'s sound, i want to say i remember reading that he over-wound his own pickups with some kind of vintage enamel coated wire he bought while on tour a while back.

routing can appear daunting at first but it aint too bad if you prepare properly. set a rail to guide the router along (i clamped a thin steel bar against my body. mark out your route and take it slow and steady. you could always clamp another bar in place to act as a stopper so you dont route anything u didnt want to.

good advice, I hadnt thought about the bars yet...luckily I still have about 3 weeks before the body gets here.

you'd be right. I decided Id rather not overwind this set since its my first jazz.

Sounds muy sexy. I'd go with some active pickups just because the best basses i've played were active. And nix w/e color that is ;p. just my opinion though.

Kinda late to "nix" the color, been orderd for a month and a half, and I love it, heh.

active pickups are a no-no for Audere preamps, although I would consider anthing with one a active bass.

Update: finally got to practice using a router, doesnt feel like itll be that hard as long as I prep everything right. Still waiting on word from Warmoth about the body, but it should be shipping anytime now.
