Coffee Lovers

My personal favorite was Jamaican Blue Mountain for a plain old cup of black coffee. Tastes like what coffee smells like. However, it is difficult to find and expensive as hell, and the quality of beans has slipped ever since that hurricane hit them and wiped out the crop several years ago. Might have been Andrew, I don't remember which one it was.

Nowadays, I use Cafe Bustelo. It is an espresso roast made for the Latin American market. I brew mine strong, and add turbinado sugar, a la Cuban coffee. Wonderful with a cigar, as well.

Jamaican Blue is the greatest coffee in the world.

Kenya AA was my favorite for years. Peaberry and Maragope (sp?) are really good as well.

I pretty much play the field these days.

I have discovered that Goya Espresso is awesome stuff, and much more affordable than the boutique stuff.

I get a locally roasted Ethiopian Yirgacheffe. The roaster is Doma and they are located in post falls ID. I get it whole bean and grind it mere seconds before I brew it in a french press/bodum. I am a coffee snob. I live in a land of lattes, breves, espresso, etc, but I make my coffee at home or in a pinch I'll have my barista fiancee make me some from her work. They serve Doma as well.

Check out http://www.gevalia.com. I've tried several of their coffees and have enjoyed them.

I get gevalia coffee deliveries ... great coffee, a bit pricey since you have shipping charges (it pays to buy in bulk, for the same shipping costs), and they are 8oz each.

I usually keep their Costa Rica Peaberry and Kona in my pantry. They also carry Jamaican Blue ($25.95 per 8oz) and other select varieties. Another nice thing is their European Coffee house selections (roasted and blended like the coffee houses of their name)... my favorite of these is Le Precope (a Parisian coffee house).

You can even sign up for their seasonal flavored coffees and limited selections (that are available only once a year).

If you love good coffee, and don't mind paying the price for it ... Gevalia is a one stop shop.

BTW... I'm drinking some Peaberry right now. :)
