Hey guys!! From Colorado Springs here! But here's the deal...I won't be in the area for a while, I'm in the military and deployed to Afghanistan. But my band is currently holding my spot for me while I'm gone. Our band, Midgard, frequents The Black Sheep, if you've ever heard of us.

Were you able to bring a bass with you? I have a good friend in the military and when he was deployed, he was able to bring a guitar with him I believe. (He's now in the intelligence end, and can't tell me what he does. lol).

While deployed I took a Martin backpacker both times. It's no bass, but it filled the void a bit. It's real cool that your band is willing to wait on you. Be safe.

I bet a Kala Ubass would be perfect... I heard one of the acoustic Ubasses in a salsa band setting on a recent cruise ship gig with my gospel band and man, it sounded really good. HUGE sound for such a small bass.

I didn't take my bass with me b/c people were telling me that they get really rough with handling packages and my bass may show up with a broken neck. I'll probably buy an acoustic bass...nothing big, but just something to pass up the time. Got a few guitar players here in the shop, maybe we can throw a little concert!

Beersurgeon actually stole a bit of my thunder...

If we want to have a month to promote, that would put us right around the BassSlam... I'm sure we could schedule something for a "TB" hang around that time, but I'd hate for anyone to have to choose...

So... Colorado Club... Are you going to the slam? Would a TB get together the before or after cramp your style?

That aside, I'd suggest a weeknight or Sunday afternoon. it's less likely to interfere with gigs and because the parking is at much less of a premium.

A Sunday afternoon sounds perfect to me. And as far as I'm concerned, we could keep it separate from the Bass Slam too... We could do a July 4th(ish) get together, like Sunday July 7th. Maybe bring a grill for the parking lot or something too. I'd be willing to pitch some cash on burgers/dogs and sodas and such. I think that'd be sweet.
