This sucks to hear about Dan and Premier.
Given I was only up there once but Dan is one hell of a super guy and that store is the shiz.
It's hard for me to get up there not having a car and all but I'll be dammed if I don't make it up there before they close.

Do any of you know which days/hours are best to go up there and see him I've got a couple cool basses I need to bring and show him.

+1, I'm really bummed as well. Dan is at the top of my list for "Nicest People I Know," and I don't even think twice about passing the Guitar Center 5 minutes from my place to make the 25-30 minute drive to Premier. And when I was unemployed for a while and didn't feel right about going to the shop knowing I couldn't spend any money, Dan was always clear that I was still welcome to come and hang out.

Seeing him has been hit or miss at best for a while now, and more "miss" the last month or so... he's in pretty rough shape. :(

I'll miss hanging out there for hours, just shooting the breeze with the guys there, because they're ALL awesome. And of course, the gear... I never would have been able to do my 1x12 cab shootout without Dan's hospitality!

Samantha, you're welcome to ride with me sometime if you like. I can't make it up to Premier during the week because of my schedule with the day job, but Saturdays work well. Shoot me a PM if you're interested and we can coordinate. Dan may not be there, but I'm going to try and get there as much as I can before they close. :hmm:

I was just up there a few hours ago. Dan was there and was super nice as usual. I wish I knew what to say to him, but I'm terrible with things like that. I feel bad for him and his family, and wish them nothing but the best with the time Dan has left. Losing Dan, and Premier, will be a huge loss for the bass community here in Colorado. I'm with 5SG in saying that he has always been so hospitable to me every time I walked in the door. I always had a great time popping in there to check the gear and hang with those guys. Dan surrounded himself with some top notch guys.

Even sadder is that the reason is that Dan seems to have a terminal illness. Seriously bummed. I'm going to try to stop by tomorrow (actually later today). Life has caught up and it's been way too long since I've been in.

First Marco from the Fox and now this. It's been a rough week.

Oh no!

What a sweet guy, and a great music store. So sad to hear the news.

I am also very sad to hear this news. The whole PBG family will be in my prayers.

Thanks for the heads up about the FB page. Nothing showed up in my news feed so I'll stop by the page to see if the questions in my head are answered.

It sure would be great to have one last GTG there before the doors close. Sounds like things are shutting down quickly though :(

I went down today and was hoping to find some interesting effects, but everything is going quick! I did buy some tubes and strings, but it was great to hang with Dan, he seems to be in good spirits, all things considering. I was also glad I could bring my son in to meet him. Xander suffered a brain injury at birth 17 months ago and is now recovered, but it was very distracting for a long time, so I hadn't been to the shop in a long time and I had wanted Dan to meet him. I had no idea that I had to make sure to make happen right away and under these circumstances.

It would be nice to have another get together there, but I'm wondering if there's something we could do for Dan when he's getting ready to shut the doors as a show of appreciation from the Front Range bass community.

THANK YOU DAN!
(I don't think I could say that enough...)

I was at Premier late this afternoon and was lucky to chat with some of the great people that made my visits to the store such an enjoyable experience. The store was just an exceptional place to discover and try a great range of quality bass equipment! And the ability to talk and discuss with many unpretentious bass players was awesome.

Prayers to Dan and his family

+1 agree that it would be nice to help give Dan a show of appreciation...

Something nice for Dan is a fantastic idea!

I don't know what his family situation is like, but maybe they could use some meal deliveries?

If and when Dan spends lots of time in the hospital he may appreciate some cozy hats or blankets.

Perhaps some of us more knowledgeable ones could help sell off gear by positive words on the sales floor?

What about a group-effort song, expressing our gratitude for what a great guy Dan is, and for having the best bass shop around?

I'll be trying to think some more about the things that were a comfort to me and my family as my brother was fighting leukemia.

I didn't realize PBG had only been there two years. With as much love as they've gotten on here I thought they had been around much longer!
