Columbus GTG 2k10:

We have a new confirmed venue. The gtg is still on for the 15th of May. I made arrangements to rent the clubhouse/rental office at my apt. complex and have made the deposit.

The venue is the Eastgreen on the Commons rental office, located at 2080 Birchview Dr., Reynoldsburg, OH 43068. It's split into upper and lower levels, should have decent parking, and has handicap access ramps for loading/unloading. Since the majority of open floorspace is on the 2nd floor, those with rigs will want to take up the 1st floor area. Those with combo amps, or who are just bringing basses will want to take the 2nd floor space.

Here are the full details again:

When: 05/15/2010
Time: 3pm-8pm
Where: 2080 Birchview Dr., Reynoldsburg, OH 43068

The main part of the building is separated from the nearest apt's by offices, a laundry room facility, and about 40 ft. of landspace. Behind the building is the tennis court and swimming pool area, with the closest apt. units in that direction being about 150 ft. On the west side of the building is the parking lot and birchview drive. So the building is set apart from the units, plus the construction of the building lends itself to absorb some bit of sound. As long as we're not trying to play for a stadium or the warped tour, I think we'll be fine.

There is about the same amount of general floorspace on the 1st level as we had with the cinci gtg's main room, minus furniture. There are about 2 couches there, a projection tv, a desk, and a small child's activity area, but that still leaves plenty of space. Make sure to bring multi-outlet strips. I did not take a count of the outlets there. There should be plenty, but please remember that we won't be allowed to unplug the office equipment to claim those outlets. Having a multitap is a good way to avoid running out of them. I will be bringing 2 multitaps myself, so that already puts the count at 2. Hopefully I should also have a moving dolly to help with load-in/out by the gtg date.

As mentioned, the venue should be adequate. A little smaller than originally planned, but then again, not bad for short notice. It's also right off one of the main streets here in Reynoldsburg, with convenient access to I-70. So it should be both easy to find and easy to get here and home using the highway.

Hmmm---:eyebrow:---I still think we oughta pass the hat for this a bit. OK THATS IT! I'M GONNA GIVE YA SOME COIN AND YOUR GONNA LIKE IT, BRO! So there!

Note to all: Auzzie's a really good guy, so I submit we hold him down and put a few bucks in his pocket AND a Snickers!
