If I come down I'l bring My Thunderfunk 550A (modded to B specs) and my LDS 210UL along with my Sadowsky Standard 5. I'm gonna see if MikeyB wants to share a ride down.

Nice. Hope you can make it. I'd test drive that Sadowsky for you.

Also, totally off topic here, but does anyone know of any place in the central Ohio area where I can rent a fretless? I need one for a song we're recording. I'm not sure when they're going to record it but I'd like it to be at least a 5 string if not a six. Also, I like Bartolini loaded fretlesses, since they seem to to have a smoother tone for fretless basses. Nordstrands aren't bad either but hey, I'll take what they have.

OR maybe someone here from TB would rent you one from the GTG?

Well, the problem with that is that I have no idea when he wants to go in and record that particular song. At first the song was written with just an acoustic guitar and some congas, but since he likes what I did on the other songs he wants me to play bass on that slow song. We're in mix down mode with 12 songs as it is but I think he wants to add this cover song as kind of a hidden track. It's an old hippie rock song but hey, it's a gig so I don't complain. Gotta keep the customers smiling, you know.:D

I thought of Fifth Ave. Fret Shop but all I've ever seen on their walls were old Fenders and stuff. I've never seen a 5 string fretless on there. I haven't checked German Village yet. I guess I can call and ask.

True. Not sure how easy it'll be to find a fretless in C-bus, not to mention a 5'r, and then one you can rent on top of all that! I know it's not the most honest thing to do, but perhaps GC or Sam Ash has one you can return within the 30 day trial period...

You missed me on that. I had a fretless 5 about a year ago and I would have let you borrow it but its gone now...:(

Actually, I called them and asked about renting a rig and they told me to just buy one and then return it when I was done... I heard that from the horse's mouth so I guess it wouldn't be completely dishonest.

I played with a blues guitarist last year, and we ended up getting some gear from GC that I ended up returning less than a week later (band broke up). The guy was cool but asked if I had bought the stuff just to record, and then returned it. He still would've taken the stuff back, just wanted honesty, which I gave him.

Yeah, like come to my show down in the Arena District at Park Street Tavern! :D

Tom.

Park Street Tavern is a great venue.

As for gear I can bring, there is the stuff listed in my sig, but I should also have my Hanewinckel 5-string and LDS 15/6.5 cab before August 1st.

EDIT: I was thinking of Park Street Patio when I said that, but Park Street Tavern is pretty nice as well.
