Is it too late to request an Fbass? I dunno if anyone has one thats going to the GTG, though Bowlus might.

Its the only boutique bass, as of now look wise, I would be willing to save for a few more months for.

I will have at least my VF5 there, though I may be able to squeeze in either the BN4 or BN5, if you're dying to check one out.

Tom.. you dont even understand how much I would appreciate it.. I have been saving for months for a new bass, and an F is my concept of a perfect looking instrument.

I may name my first son Tom. Or daughter. ;)

On another note, Im very nervous.. being the youngest one coming, having most likely the least amount of time playing compared to everyone else.. Im very, very nervous. Im just saying that now, get it off my chest.

Sorry for all of the posts, but whoever was willing to give me their Comfort Strapp, please dont forget! As of now, I dont have a strap.. I left mine in Beaver..

I had to delete old PMs, and cannot remember who made that offer... And I feel terrible for forgetting, too. :atoz:

It's already sitting on top of my amp at the church.

Don't worry about playing time or how good you think you are. I usually try to find the good in everyone's playing, even if it's not great. I say that and yet, I get extrememly nervous myself about the same thing. Just go in knowing you're not going to blow anyone away, and probably won't be blown away either.

heh heh hmm hmm heh heh...

You're 16 and you missed the pun opportunity in that?
;)

Oh no, I definitely saw it.. but I wondered if you old farts would. :D

Good to know Nick! Im not saying I dont have a bit of chops, but not the amount of time like some of you guys, or knowledge of theory.

Ah well, you kids have fun. I don't really have anything to add this time around anyways... well, lots of pedals. ;)

Maybe next time.

Hey Double D, get outta our thread. ;)

No problem! I won't have a ton of room, so do you have a preference for the BN4 or BN5? I will definitely have the VF5, as I plan on taking that to the gig.

See, the reason I quit even looking at this thread was because I knew I couldn't make it and I could only imagine what Tom would be bringing. Considering I've been reading his blog and Bass Gear Mag forever, I was already drooling. Nonetheless, I can't help heckling Jordan. We need to do a tri-state GTG for OH, IN, and IL...

Ouch Tom! Make it that much harder on me!

Its a simple answer. Is there a big tonal, and neck feel/size difference in the two 5ers?

I dont know if I want a 4 or 5, so if the difference is small, bring a 4 and 5. If the difference is big time, bring both 5s.

Cha ching!

Well, I got my Hanewinckel today, but I'm having issues with the pickups. I ordered my pickups as dual-coils with Alnico V magnets, and I'm having issues with microphonics and feedback. Plus, they're pretty low in output. Even with the pickups closer to the strings on the Hane, it still doesn't come close to the output of my Yamaha. Plus, the pickup heights only seem to adjust within a fairly limited range. Anyway, I might still bring it tomorrow and maybe Tom and/or Pete can confirm that these issues are not normal...

I have contacted Pete about this, but I'm waiting for his e-mail reply. I have a feeling he'll take care of me. If nothing else, I might just get the Nordstrand Dual Coils DC 5 Set (Series).
