Combo amp help

So I've been playing bass on and off for like 5 years, but I've never upgraded my amp and I've been using a terrible combo called GLX or something and decided to get a new one, but I really have no idea what to look for. So I'm looking for some recommendation for combo amp that have good sound and quality that I can use for practise and possibly when playing with friends, but not too expensive, my budget is around $450.

When you say playing with friends, will there be a drummer?

I'd look at a GK MB115 or a Fender Rumble 200. If you shop used you can get more for your dollar.

With playing with friends I mean guitar and drums basically and there is not a big used market where I live so I'm most likely buying new.

Grab your bass and head to every music store you can find, and plug into everything.

Only music store I am able to go to only have a roland cube 30 so can't do that.

I feel spoiled. 2 GC's within 20 minute drive. At least two used stores within a 20 minute drive, 4 mom and pop storeswith good reputations with 20 minutes.

Fender Rumble series great start , I would also and have done so many times, suggest the Peavey Max Series also at your price point good luck. RTS

I'd check out the GK MB212-ii, the Fender Rumble 500 210, and the Ampeg BA-210 v2. I can tell you from experience, the MB212 will cover most gigs.

Those are about twice the price of my budget.

Right now I'm considering the GK MB115, it's slightly over budget but doesn't hurt. Also been looking at the warwick BC150, but not sure yet.

I'm not buying anything from outside of Norway as I would have to pay 50% extra

The GK is a great amp but can only push so much air.
If you guys are loud or playing downtuned metal, etc. you need something more.

The cool thing about the newer GK MB combos is that they have powered extension cabinets if you ever need to push more volume.

Only problem is they're pretty pricy, the extension is the same cost as the combo. So factor that in as well.
