Combo Amps...

a lot of good combos in that price range. check out other people's opinions but try some out for yourself and see what you think and get the one that sounds best to you. personally, i'm down with the ampegs in that price range. i love my new micro vr stack. ampeg has some new lightweight ss portaflex heads and cabs coming out soon in that price range that become fliptop combos like the old b-15's. if they're as good as the micro vr stack, they're going to be the combos to beat in that price range imho.

I think the Micro-VR is a great choice if the combo thing isn't a deal breaker for you. If it is, I owned an Ampeg b200r and it was hands down one of the best bass amps I've ever owned. I only sold it to gain funds for my touring stack, and would buy another one in a heartbeat. 220 watts through the SVP preamp system into an Eminence 15" driver. What more could you ask for?
