If they roll the edges like Sire/Marcus Miller, then I'm in.If you read closely, there is one "improvement." Exactly one: "slab rosewood or maple fingerboard with smooth rolled edges." The rolled fingerboard edges.
Is that enough to move the needle for buyers? We shall see.
Not everybody likes/wants matching headstocks. An FSO with matching headstocks is a no-go for me.I said it before, they should do a name change...Fender Humdrum Series.
The Coral with black pickguard looks good, but I can get a matching headstock with a less expensive Bacchus.
With a black pickguard it would look amazine! The Birch Green looks pretty good to me.
Instead of a V5R or V7?If they roll the edges like Sire/Marcus Miller, then I'm in.
Enough want them that it's mentioned over and over again here, especially through the mod shop, which allows you to mod your bass the way you want to.Not everybody likes/wants matching headstocks. An FSO with matching headstocks is a no-go for me.

Define enough. IMO, if Fender would be able to make money with this, they would offer them....Enough want them that it's mentioned over and over again here, especially through the mod shop, which allows you to mod your bass the way you want to.
(Correction, the way Fender wants you to mod it )
A bit better fretwork and general QC would be nice. Other brands/companies (Squier included) can do it for far less than $800.Rosewood is back, so there's that. Also, what do you expect them to do as far as improvements? How much more can you do to a Jazz or Precision and keep it under $800?
To infinity and beyondI like the rosewood, but c'mon, how many times can they rebrand red, blue and green.
Same here! The one exception is my American Pro II P Bass.My CV smokes just about every 'Fender' Ive owned.

Fender's "innovations" have largely been found by looking in their own rear view mirror for most of their history. Not sure why you wold expect anything different this time around. The "new" colors are far from being all that different from existing colors and the "improvements" are vague and not overtly different.
SNORE...........
