I saw a Victor Wooten show a couple of weeks ago. He uses the RC-300. If I had a road crew, so would I. But the Boomerang III is all I need playing live shows. Since I play with a real drummer in real time I don't need midi sync at all.

I'm not saying this applies to your situation, but just because you play with a live drummer doesn't mean that MIDI sync is useless. You could, for example, sync to a click track.
And for live looping, one of the most important features are the switches. How easy is it to time your loop when you step on them? The Boomerang and RC-300 footswitches are the easiest for me. Can you lay down a short master loop and then synch the others to it? (Yes, for the RC-300 and Boomerang II.)

Yes, I do use the midi time sync at home when composing song sketches on the RC-300 or Boomerang III. I sync to whatever drum track I compose on Drumbrute.

Well, I told you guys what my situation is. But so far this is a one way conversation in that regard..
I'm mostly a solo player, though I've occasionally looped live, and have plans to do so again. I primarily compose and perform in a Ableton and Maschine. Having a looper close the loop and keep in sync with the host software is critical for me. I'm also a little sloppy with my timing, at times. Partly because I multitask when playing, partly because I don't practice enough, and partly because of a spinal cord injury which left me with some nerve damage.

Still haven't learned to exploit all that box can do. I had a friend selling a nearly new one, and it met the criteria. My only dream change would be to have it run off a 9v plug.
The Infinity has never been on my wish list. Probably because it only has a 2 loop capability.
