Comparing Basses To Cars

If my basses are *gag* Fords *gag* then its time to sell them:D

Imo,Id draw a parallel between the Chevy V-8 and the Fender P. You can get one anywhere, theyre relatively inexpensive, everyone makes parts for them, and after 45+ years theyre both still being built, and selling like hotcakes.

If Fords are so bad, how did the Mustang make GM wimp out and pull the Camaro and Firebird from the market?:p

My brother had a plain jane brown Satellite with the 426 hemi and an automatic transmission. That car would lay rubber in every gear, and once the tires caught in 3rd, nothing could outrun it!

Rickenbacker - an old Tucker or Austin Healey (always a classic, unusual styling and worth a lot these days)

Tune (when they were made in US)- a Lexus (sound nice, feel incredible and somewhat expensive)

Steinberger - a Mazda Miata (cute little thing that's a kick in the ass)

Ibanez - depending on which model, a Honda Accord (not much to look at, dependable and good for the $$)

Conklin - an 18 wheeler full of bricks (huge, heavy, a bit impractical for the average operator)

Fender - a Ford (very common, boring and we're ALL tired of hearing how "great" they are)
