Comparing Basses To Cars

hi embellisher,

my tune was made in the US:

Tune Guitar Technology
7293 University Ave.
La Mesa, CA 92401

(619) 465-6367

I spoke to them on the phone about 8 years ago when I bought my bass. I believe that factory no longer exists, and I know that a Japan factory does.

I said nothing negative about Japanese basses, I actually like most of them.... and Japanese cars too...:)

If Fords are so bad, how did the Mustang make GM wimp out and pull the Camaro and Firebird from the market?:p

Its a conspiracy,I tell ya.....but this isnt the first time GM has shot themselves in the foot.Remember the Buick Grand National? Turbo V6 that would have dusted just about any other production car at the time.....but nooooooo, theyre too powerful,so we'll discontinue them. Idiots.

I just hope that if GM brings back the F-body that they dont make it some limp wristed wrong wheel drive car. They already ruined the LeMans and the Malibu.

Must...keep...mouth....shut. Can't...reveal...product ....strategy....

Don't worry, there are a lot of potent bullets in the General's gun. By the time we're through, the Camaro and Firebird won't be missed. ;) Think "Chevy SSR". And that's just the beginning.

Peace,

James

Someday American car makers will figure out how to make a reliable turbo sports car and then maybe I'll buy one.

As a previous owner of a Buick 85 Ttype (With lots of fun parts added on), and son of a father that owns a 85 GN, a 87 GN, 2 1996 Impala SS's, and a 92 Typhoon, I can totally agree with that. BUT, the G-body line was going away, that's the real reason those cars went away....besides the fact that the doors always sagged, the interiors were beyond cheap, the brakes on the Turbo buicks SUCKED (Powermaster), and the suspension design was better suited to grandma-style driving. But that engine....jeeeeezus. Throw on a good fuel pump, better air filter, chip, adjust the TPS, get an adjustable regulator.....and just go. I stuck an aftermarket (Spearco) front mount Intercooler and a bigger/better cam in mine. Way to powerful for a 19 year old kid.

basslax, it also depends on the spector. I would say the USA and Czechs aren't Geo Metros.

no, see thats where youre wrong.

the american spectors would be the new Chevy Metros, top of the (metro) line.

the european would be your 98-00 GEO metros, simalar but not as high quality.

then you get the rex model. this is your turquoise 1985 geo with 2 flat tires and 53 hp.

Ooo, this looks like fun!

Double bass = Mack Truck (very big, harder to learn, loud)

Fender = Ford (gotta agree with that one)

Ibanez SR series = Mazda Miata (tries to be sporty, and is to a point, but can't quite play with the big boys)

Modulus = Subaru Impreza (looks cool, is cool, and is more versatile than you might think at first sight)

Univox = Chevette (ie, piece of crap)

Yamaha = Yamaha motorcycles :D

Godin = Honda Civic (cheap, sleek & versatile)

errrm... probably will think of more later...
