Compatible Cab for GK 1001 Rb?

Happy Holidays everyone!

I'm thinking about getting a GK 1001RB, however would a NEO 212 be compatible? I don't want to get a 410 because I'm not sure it will fit in the back of car.

Thanks a lot!

The Neo 212 is a great match. Popular, too. That’s been my rig for years. For outdoor gigs, I’ll use two 212s.

The Neo 212 comes across more even or neutral sounding than the Neo 410, which delivers strong bass. Bass not lacking in the 212; the 410 low end is just more prominent and lower.

Would a 700RB also do well with a NEO 212?

And regarding the 410, do you find it difficult to fit in the back seat of a mid sized sedan?

A 700RB would probably be a similarly good choice. Some may even prefer it, but it depends on if you really need the extra wattage and are going for an ultra clean sound.

As for the fit thing, I've managed to fit 412s in the back seat of a sedan. If you're really curious, get out the measuring tape and double check. Or even make a mock up out of cardboard or something and see if it fits (I bet it would).

I run a NEO 412 with mine - match made in heaven!

Yes. I also have a 700RB. The difference between the 700 and the 1001 is the 700 will provide the GK grind at lower volume and the 1001 will stay cleaner longer. The 1001 is maybe a couple dB louder being 700 watts v. 480 watts.

The 410 is only slightly taller than the 210 — same width and depth — so I believe the transportation differences are negligible. The 212 is a good amount lighter. Both will have the same effective vertical and depth size when tilted on their sides to push onto the back seat of a sedan. The choice should be about tone. All about tone. Many prefer the 212; many others prefer the 410.

Edit: The 410 is noticeably louder than the 210, if that matters.

That depends due to NEO 410 being a taller box than most 410's. For example I can easily fit it in my 96 Pontiac Grand Prix with some manuevering and help, but no way will go into the back seat of my 2015 Dodge Challenger due to the space between the door jam and front seat.

Now the NEO 112'S will fit in both without even breaking a mild sweat. I have also found that the 112's sound louder up to a point due to the mids that they put out. However the 410 will eventually run away in total volume.

If you want a fuller even sound and easy portability, get 2 12's. If you want a deeper low end, more total volume and don't mind the more difficult portability, then get the 410.
