VEGANBASS said:hey, I got a complaint. I work parttime in a grocery store. we go thru tons of cardboard. my co-workers refuse to put the extra effort in to throw the cardboard one foot further so it reaches the recycle compactor. instead they just put it in the garbage. we have alot of employees and only a handful recycle. people just dont care. that drives me nuts!
This is quite prevalent.
My son noted a few years back that there was a recycling
program at North Kingstown RI HS. He also noted that
the janitors threw it all into one dumpster after collection.
My office cleverly has 2 wastebaskets, one black and
one blue. Lurena, the cleaning lady, puts it all into one bag,
and puts it into the ONE dumpster provided outside by
the company.
This really annoys me as I spend a fair amount of time
and energy separating and recycling every Sunday.
But in the industrial park where I work, I see no paper
recyclying at all, even though there is a state law
mandating business recycling.
And finally, when it comes time to clear out food samples
out of the freezer, I am the only one who cares enough
to take a ride up to RI Food Bank and donate the stuff,
which is perfectly good. My coworkers would just throw it
in the dumpster. Starts to smell pretty good outside as
it only gets picked up once a week and frozen fish doesn't
last too long. The maggots and flies are cool, it seems.
I work with morons.
