I'll admit, I am on here a lot. I quit working to stay home w/ the baby and go back to school,etc. I quit school a month or two ago because my fiance and I were planning to move to NC so she could be with her sister...only to find out last week that her sister's husband will now be sent to Germany indefinitely (army), and she is going with him. So now I have no job; I'm not in school anymore; we're not moving after all :mad: ; it doesn't take that long to take care of the house, etc. What else is ther for me to do? Download porn? Oooo fun... Justify myself to some 16 year old?
And I really appreciate the implication that I'm neglecting my kids. (that's how I took it anyway.)

+1 :spit: My science teacher, who had only been teaching for 3 years (how she made it this far, I'm not sure) lost 5 or 6 assignments of mine over the year, and repetitively denied responsibility for it. In fact, by the end of our last semester, more than 70% of my grade was failing her class due to homework issues. That's no coincidence :rollno: :scowl:

+10. I'm 14. So what? That doesn't make me stupid, and that doesn't mean I suck. I know my stuff, and I've worked up some chops. I know a lot about basses, music in general, life in general. When people tell me that 'I wouldn't understand' without any attempt at an explanation I just want to punch them in the face :spit: :spit: :spit:

I dont see whats up with all the young'uns dissing. You're all old, married, with children, you're never gonna have another woman in your bed for the most part, you're never gonna play any sport like you did when you were 20, the more you grow the older, balder, fatter, close-minded you get...

Oh, I see why you diss us so much now, my bad ;)

20 is not that young, not a teenager anymore bud, but i am guessing people are still treating you as one?

Yea I'm an old Geezer alright... but people on this forum have laughed at my opinions because they said I lacked experience because I was young. So much for that if the counter argument is "hey youre not that young youre 20".

But hey its not like I take any of you seriously anyway so I guess we're even :D

Sign of being mature is that you know that you actually know much less then you think you know (Socrates), hence my underlining of "I know a lot" comment.

I know that I am not at that point yet but I think and hope I am getting close. The "disses" that you guys referring to are merely suggestions that "you don't know everything that you think you know" (Socrates). We all have gotten them, I get them to this day, and for most part, they are right.

Quoting Socrates isn't going to help. Some of the comments made towards younger forum users here aren't simple suggestions as to the manner in which we should all reflect upon ourselves and know that we know much less than we think we know. It's just plain "you're young, you've got 20+ years less than me, why should I listen to you, your opinion does not matter because, since I'm older, I know better".

Know that in 20+ years we'll be the ones cutting your retirement money :p

Being mature or immature isn't really the problem. Lets be truthful here, you're probably one of the most immature posters I know of, and I say this without it being pejorative in the least. You just like to post for fun and get a good laugh, which in most cases isn't very mature.

The truth is, it's not the degree of maturity which matters in an intellectually challenging conversation (thus not age), but rather the degree of education, of open-mindedness, of comprehension, apprehension and understanding, even if not agreeing. Telling a younger user his opinion doesn't matter because he's got life ahead of him still is insulting to that person because you think less of his capacities to understand your arguments and his own because of his age.

Fact is, alot of younger people today are smarter, better educated, and have thought out their opinions and values better than many 40+ adults.

But hey you and the others being condescending towards the younger generations probably won't change your point of view either way, I can picture you already rolling your eyes with a smirk on your face, so lets leave it at that ;)
