Compressor for bass and guitar

Keeley Bassist and GC-2 are exactly the same inside, so either would work for both. I believe the MXR M87 and MXR M76 are identical inside as well.

The Bassist and GC-2 are similar but not identical. Not sure you'd notice much difference between the two with guitar but you should hear a difference with bass as they react differently to lower frequencies.

For not a ton of money the JHS Pulp’N’Peel is good on guitar and bass. The Cali76 Compact is good on guitar and bass. The only difference between the Origin Compact and Compact bass is a HPF.
In truth most comps are not instrument specific. But I set them differently for different results.

On bass I want to control attack a little but mostly I want to level and limit. On guitar I want a lot of extra sustain. That’s something I’d rarely want on bass.
