I've got one too. Bought more after also. Per the topic, the charge was to convince to go cheaper.
Well…this is a forum. “The topics are yours to choose - and ours to discuss.” as the old radio tag line put it. And since nobody here is getting paid, we’re pretty much free to discuss or answer however we want.
To tge OPs topic I myself don’t try to convince the people here anything. I simply share what I know and offer whatever observations I may have.
Based on the original post, the OP found an ideal bass just outside his preferred price range, but still felt it was doable. Why would I want to get in the middle of that? Could he find a less expensive bass he liked equally well? Probably. But I still couldn’t say that for sure. So I felt I’d be doing him a disservice doing exactly what he asked.
There’s no need for drama. You find something you really want, and you either buy or don’t buy it. He said he found a bass he loves and he can probably swing it. What else is there to say? He doesn’t need anybody’s permission to get it or walk away. The only observation I could offer is not all Fenders are created equal. And that’s something he’ll want to consider before he passes up the one he found.
