Cool or ugly?

keep the neck. paint everything else black with black hardware. thats cool

The only problem is when fender wants to do a signature bass in my honor for mass production, they will have to scrap the Roger Waters bass.

It would have been funny if I cut the pickguard from a piece of wood panel board!......on a side note I bet it would have been much stronger, and prob woulnt have cracked around the jack as easy.

Not feeling the wood pickguard at all, or an all-chrome pickguard...keep it simple' and get a black one.

It's cool, primarily because I'm a sucker for maple fretboards! But good combination, if a bit over-the-top to me, but not at all ugly.

here is the current pic again. After a couple weeks now that brown spray pant (ment for plastic application), has bonded quite well!

I think it's fugly. As you know beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Something tells me you aren't that crazy about it yourself if you are asking. The good news is you can always change it. I always liked a strong contrast in color when it comes to wood and pick guard combinations. I never went for that dark on dark ****. Just me though..

Actually I love it!.....but a part of me knows that its a bit weird. I was just checking for opinions!

After seeing the brown control plate I still don't like it. I dunno you got a nice shiny modern look black against a vintage looking wood grain. It just clashes to me visually. I agree with the guy who said pick one of the styles and go with it.

That particular color wood grain reminds me of a floor model tv I use to watch wrestling on in the 80s. You know the kind you put a smaller tv on when the bigger one breaks.

I do have to add that it looks better in person. I'm a sucky photographer. The walnut is much darker in person, as is the control plate too.
