Sorry, didn’t mean to touch a nerve…..just a passing thought about their early appearance. (which I’d never seen before.) I’m not a fan of punk or metal, so I’m largely unfamiliar with them.I think they look like regular late 70's early 80's teenage rock music fans.....which I think was sort of the point.
That band never got involved with the "what kind of look are we going for" thing.
No hair metal "puffy hair, makeup and stretchy/stripey costumes" stuff.
No leather boy S&M accessories.
It was about musical content and playing for their fans, which has stayed that way their whole career.
Writing a hundred songs with hooks that grab you by the throat and never let you go was their goal and they've accomplished that incredibly well.
The punk thing in the mid 70's very quickly got a bit sidetracked by fashion over substance in some cases.
The Sex Pistols being the first example.
Many punk fans being another.

His younger sister, Eleanor, portrayed the priestess Ahme of the sacrificial cult chasing after Ringo in the movie Help!(as he accidentally receives a ring that marks him as the next victim). Ahme has a change of heart, of course, and helps him escape. Bron was also Paul McCartney’s inspiration/namesake for “Eleanor Rigby”.![]()
