The fact that the time lapse photography lasts two and a half minutes, and takes about five people to set it up...
I caught Roddy Radiation(Roderick Byers), former lead guitarist for the original line-up of The Specials, last night…
It’s great that he’s still out there, in spite of the fact that he wasn’t the front man or primary writer back in the day(and I did see the reconstituted edition of the band a few years ago before Terry Hall’s unfortunate passing). Decent sized appreciative club crowd, all sorts of ages. It’s similar to the situation that I chronicled last month with Tony Valentino, guitarist for The Standells; not the main guy, but he brought the heritage. Next on the schedule, Richard Thompson, then the Lemon Twigs.

I never got to see the band in its original form, but I saw two of the later versions. First in 2013--no Jerry, of course, and Neville had just left, but the other five (including Roddy) were still on board and they were great. A few years later, Roddy had left and John Bradbury had sadly passed, but they still put on a good show with Terry, Lynval and Horace plus Steve Craddock on guitar and the same fellow on keys.
