We were fortunate that we were able to see both of them last Sunday. Of course they were great. Nick Lowe played with Los Straitjackets as his band. Great surf-Dick Dale-type goodness. Thanks for posting that pic.
I was able to see Nick with those guys a couple times in Chicago. They give his songs a little more kick than his previous band, while still in keeping with his laid-back style of the past couple decades. I'm glad the shows give Los Straitjackets a segment on their own, too, they're stellar.

Atlantic Records' exec Ahmet Ertegun, fledgling Producer Felix Pappalardi and Engineer Tom Dowd recording Cream's Strange Brew session. Dowd's splices of Clapton's solo on Crossroads made the song flow better. Felix landed his job by hanging out in the front office where an exasperated Ahmet in need of a Producer for their new band asked him, ''who are you? what do you do?'' Felix was then told to go in the studio and get to work.

He had actually produced the first Youngbloods album, recorded in late 1966, including their best known song, "Get Together", and before that had been a backing musician for a number of well-known folkies like Tom Paxton.
