Watt and Missingmen, last night…

Setting up…

Then a strong opening with the Stooges’ “Fun House”(but, of course)and plowing through all sorts of fractured twists and turns, with a one-two punch of BOC’s “E.T.I.” followed by the inevitable “The Red And The Black” early on…

This was at a local music festival over the weekend in a park, mainly bands from the area(high desert near Joshua Tree)but before him, there was the reformed original surviving line-up of the Pandoras, an all-female 60’s garage rock-influenced band of the 80’s from LA that just didn’t quite get their due like the Bangles or Go-Go’s. A guitarist from a later line-up and new vocalists filled in for the leader, Paula Pierce, who died from an aneurysm at 31…

Love the flying bass drums on poles, and a Marshall stack for a drum monitor? Yow. That’s the only era of his music that I liked, it rocked hard…“Heavy Music”, “RGM”, “Lucifer”.
