Memphis, TN 1956 at the intersection of Mendenhall and Poplar Ave. in East Memphis, where ELVIS got off the train and walked home to his Audubon Dr. house after returning from New York, where he appeared on the Steve Allen show and sang “Hound Dog” wearing a tuxedo and tails, singing to an actual hound dog. Photographer Alfred Wertheimer, who documented the trip, returned with him back to Memphis via train, and captured the moment when they'd dropped off EP off and he walked home. a young Elvis Presley, who is famous, but not so famous as to be unable to walk down the street in his own hometown. the last moments of Elvis Presley‘s life where he could be this 'normal'.
