It's interesting you posted that today.
Just last night, I saw a woman on TV in stiletto heels and I said to myself, "The older I get, the weirder and weirder high heels look to me."
I'm kind of with you guys. Even when I was young high heels were, well, maybe not a red flag, but definitely a yellow flag. Like, "Oh man, she'll never be able to keep up, and we're going to have to take cabs EVERYWHERE."
But I'm also sympathetic to the notion that some fashion choices are meant to exclude or repel certain types of suitors as much as to attract others. "That guy wants me to walk to the show, and spend vacations camping?? Ugh, no THANK you!"
So ladies, it ain't criticism. Just a little personal utilitarian taste, that's all.

Back in the day I had a very fit and very fashion-aware GF. She'd help with load out - grab a monitor wedge in each hand and high-heel hightail her way out to the van.

Yup, the ladies would swoon at his concerts and rush the stage in the hope that they might grab his cigar butt or a glove...or a piece of hair!
Just thinking about them today. Some of my favorite tunes of theirs are the Vaselines covers. From an interview with Eugene Kelly:Kurt Cobain
