There was this Belgian guy called Plastic Bertrand who actually didn't sing his only hit "Ça plane pour moi". It was producer Lou Deprijck who wrote, recorded and actually sang the song. A funny story and a great song anyway.

It was covered by a lot of other musicians including Metallica.

I had that single, kind of a punk novelty song. Goofy stuff like Wreckless Eric.

Oh yes, this song got a fair amount of notice in the US at the time. Sonic Youth covered it as well.

Since I didn't identify these 2 before.....




The gentleman is James Boogaloo Bolden, who played trumpet in BB Kings band for 30 years. If you've seen 80's vids of BB, you may remember James as "the head boppin' guy", as seen here :36 - :40.





Evelyn Rubio is a multi-talented singer/songwriter saxophonist who, in addition to playing with Bolden and the BB King band, has also worked with one time BB King bandleader, Calvin Owens.


Evelyn also leads her own band as well as playing sax and singing in a local ( Houston ) Pink Floyd cover band.
