I love Annie Haslam's voice. And I love Prologue. I had about worn my second vinyl version smooth when it was reissued on CD. Sorry I missed her/their tour last year to celebrate her 75th birthday. She's still got the pipes!

It was a last minute change when the original openers couldn't make the show. The promoters added TWO openers, Graham Central Station and Focus! It turned out to be a great concert. I can still visualize the start of the first song in Tull's encore, Locomotive Breath. The stage was dark except for a tight spotlight on John Glascock's (Tull's bassist at the time) furry white boots, stomping with the beat. Even with two openers, the drugs hadn't worn off yet. It was a wonderful night!

Michael Arnopol, playing with the Patricia Barber Quartet. I caught as many of their Monday night gigs at the Green Mill in Chicago as I could.
Check out his bassline in Too Rich For My Blood. It just blows me away. The song is in F Major. The first bass note is 50 cents sharp. The second is 25 cents sharp. The remainder are spot on. It just sounds so good. Before I had Melodyne, I kept trying to figure out that two-note intro. Could never get my fretted bass to sound right on it. Now I know how to bend them. Still doesn't sound like an AUB. I do the best I can.

That's a really nice part of France, between Cannes and Antibes. Fréjus isn't too far away (remember the King Crimson Live in Fréjus set from 1982?).

Well, Garcia never ever did anything he didn't want to.
For some things that worked out well.
But it also led to his early death from a combination of heart disease and severe diabetes; he would NOT control his eating, drinking, and drug intake, because he didn't WANT to.
