If you haven’t read Bill Bruford’s autobiography, I would say please do. If only to read the section where he and Tony Levin were called in to for an Al Di Meola session (his Scenario album?) and it’s priceless. It’s Al at his most pompous and Tony at his most, well Tony!.

Oh yes. Just for grins. Here is Bill Connors (Al’s predecessor in RTF). Not a slouch either.

Al Di Meola looking as bored as ever. He may be a great technical guitarist, but he has the charisma of a 2x4.
Some people are just jerks. I was at Newport when DiMeola was playing, and he spent pretty much all of his announcing time complaining about his position as the last act. Dude, you've been invited to perform at the freaking NEWPORT JAZZ FESTIVAL. I thought his deportment was very unprofessional. It was the only example of that sort of thing I saw all day. Everyone else acted like they were happy to be there.

He, and Clapton, are on my "annoying jerk" list.

Expensive! Here in France, a new copy is over 40 euros. Used copies are over 30. I'll have to check Kindle.

Great album, BTW.

That’s too bad. It really is a one of the better autobiographies. Kindle would do, but I’ll keep an eye out here for used paperback. If I run across one less priced I’ll let you know.
