In a thread this long, lots of the good ones have already been mentioned. Some of the ones that haven't been that I like are:

In the early '70s, my boss used to schedule hie yearly Las Vegas vacation around Stark Naked & The Car Theives' gig there. He was very unhappy when they stopped going to Vegas.

My personal favorite, though, has got to be Dr. Teeth & The Electric Mayhem. What a Band!

SKSK is actually named after a song by one of (if not my all-time) favorite bands, Cap'n Jazz, whom I based my username off of (I also love Cap'n Jazz's name).

Anyways, some names I love are Violent Femmes, the Jesus Lizard, the Fugs, the Psychedelic Furs, American Football, Superchunk, and a band I've been listening to quite a bit lately (prepare yourselves, because this is a good one), Black Moth Super Rainbow.

I also used to play bass/mandolin in an acoustic two-piece called Dolphin Supremacy. I still love that name, in all its ridiculousness.
