Where did you get this, how did you do it, and how can I get one too??!

Oh no!! It's Back!! I need a restraining order against this bass. Every few months I see this beautiful P resurface and it reminds me how awesome looking it is and that I need to track one down.

LuvMusic... Still digging on this bass man? This is my new favorite finish for Fenders. I have my black and maples covered atm, so for future basses I will be looking for a nice wood grain finish. Maybe I can corner one of these bad boys.

In my most discerning opinion, not totally crazy about the execution, but really digging this colorway. Gold hardware isn't working for me in this particular case.

I got the bass from Elderly Music. When I ordered it Bass Central had them too.

I didn't do anything special. This is a Fender Factory Special Run (FSR) that was available earlier in the year. There were 150 each made in four different models. This one, another version of the P with a wine colored stain and rosewood board and the same two combinations done in a Jazz versions.

Did a quick check and it appears Bass Central still has at least one.

Hope this helps!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder! So here is my current P-bass (poor photo, sorry) - I decided to rebel against the instinct to add tort to sunburst. Additionally, right now I have serious GAS for an Oly white with tort p'guard and a maple fretboard or a Roadworn in sunburst. And yes, that is a matching strap I have there :)

And this counts, too. I would love a relic'd '51 RI... or, y'know, the real thing. Love that early 50s look.
