I love this thread! I have owned several P bass's and rue the day I sold any of them!!!!!!!!! I did manage to hang onto this one and while she may not be the coolest, she plays and sounds like a dream! She still looks great too for 33 years old.

How Ric'ish does that sound? Do you have the stereo outs?

It does not have the Ric-O-Sound as of now. It could be done by a skilled luthier. Someday I may do that.

As for how "Rickish" does it sound? Very much so, particularly when played with a pick. I'll try and get some audio posted over the weekend.
 
I like the ones with the offset body and single coil pickups, now those are cool. :D:ninja:

I am refinishing a P currently (my first bass that had a horrible paint job that was a different coloured burst under the pickguard) in Oly White with matching headstock and tort guard, rosewood board, and ashtray pup and bridge covers. I thought it was the perfect classy P look for me, without being too dark. It was between that and the Antigua paint job with the shaded pickguard edges.
