I was about to apologize for the derail, then I remembered this thread isn't actually about cheese, bitter melon and overall Filipinoness
Though far be it from me to be the "Blame the victim" guy.
It's not it's about burritos...

...Please, tell me what could I of done short of manslaughter to avoid this situation? (Leave when I saw he was there? Travel with someone who could of acted as a buffer? Wear mainly high neck tees? Wait I do that last one.) The fact that I have to take these precautions, and most guys don't proves that there is a rape culture.
So just wondering, what happened next? Did you call authorities, did you let anyone know? Did you hit him? Or did you let it go?
I don't know that you've could've easily avoided that situation but you should've responded by kneeing him in his crotch...hard!
After the smile he acted like it didn't happen so I let it go, chalked it up to a mistake. We were on a church trip, out of state, and I didn't want to ruin everyone's fun. If I had filed a report it would of been his word against mine, and it's not like there was any fluid exchange for proof.
Did I mention I have a disability (which also puts a target on my head) so that would been impossible? Plus that would of involved stepping closer to him which was the last thing I wanted to do. Would you attack someone who is 2-3 times stronger than you?
I'll let you in on a little secret. No matter how big and strong a guy is, striking him in his "special area" will do the trick. That would've sent a STRONG message!
One problem is, what he might do after. Maybe not right after but week after. You never know with those type of guys.

She should also have raised a massive ruckus at those incidents and filed a report (which by the way she still can), if not for herself then for the next person that has to hang with those losers.
So today was the second to last day for a couple of my classes, and I don't know what to make of some of my classmates' behavior.
I've been chatting with these guys all term, classic small talk stuff: "How's the paper going?" "What are you doing this weekend?" "How was your weekend?" Today we wished each other a good weekend, and then they just stood there. I was waiting for them to say something, or leave or something but they just stood there, kinda smiling, looking at me. (I would of left but I was staying in that classroom and still packing my bag.)
Why would they do this? I kinda feel bad for not saying something because the silence lasted the majority of a minute.
The proper thing is for her to distance herself from this guy and group. It sucks that she's not doing anything wrong and yet is the one with consequences but that's life. It ain't fair.
