Covering Extra Rack Space

Apologies if this has been discussed (I did attempt to search).

Simple question....what do you guys do with your extra rack space? I have two extra spaces and will probably put a rack compressor in there at some point but for the time being, its just a big empty space. I'd like to cover it. Suggestions?

I got a 1U perferated steel blank panel. It was around $7 at Sam Ash. It's actually folded at the edges. Pretty nice.

For heavy metal I'd go with steel. Otherwise, aluminum should do.

When I was into synths, I had an 8 space rack with only one module. Covers didn't look good, so I kept buying stuff till it was full.

Just about every amp manufacturer recommends using a solid panel if you're going to be covering up unused rack spaces, claiming it promotes more effective ventilation. Those fans and grilles are in there for a reason. Realistically, I can't imagine it matters too much...
