Covid story from Sturgis

I live in Ohio. Tribute bands around here are serious business and pull minimum at least three times the fee that a regular established cover band gets, and usually much much more. Now if these jokers had an “agent” and a contract that was that poopy, my best guess is they were awful at best, true amateurs, and stunk up the place as if they were only prepared to play a corner bar in a small town. Showed up without any production, Motley Crue-like stage show whatsoever. There’s an AC/DC tribute around here that has a giant AC/DC bell prop and legitimate looking backline. This Crue band reads like it is amateurish and way over its head as far as big events and what is expected from a true “tribute” act.

Appears these guys may have been in way over their heads for something as big as Sturgis. Not even a professional backdrop... just a homemade whatever you’d call that. Fine for a neighborhood bar, but a tribute act at Sturgis is a whole different level of expectancy.

Here’s a pic of the AC/DC tribute band I mentioned, taken at a CAMPGROUND here in central Ohio a few weeks ago. Not Sturgis, a CAMPGROUND.

THIS is what is expected of people billing themselves as a tribute band around here.

And... they're probably immune to EVERYTHING.

In the article it's mentioned that the band had to earn 3,500 just to cover the trip, although any of us coulda budgeted it for half of that. Point is: these guys were risking their lives for a net gain of $1,500 or $375 each.

Well the writer pays lip-service to the idea of having attempted to call the bar owner - not the only flimsy part of this piece. Dude gets the band's name wrong every time. They're called Carnival of Sin. Singular.
