Cracked hands!!!!!

I'm a machinist by trade, I'll wear gloves like that sometimes but they don't last long. A lot of times gloves are a flat out get your hand ripped off no no. Always have WD-40 or cutting oil and grease on them. If I'm using parts cleaner or especially brake cleaner, I'm done for no matter what I do.

I wouldn't come up here - at least not until it warms up 30 or 40 degrees ! Hope y'all are staying warm(er) down there, and wearing gloves...

So sorry to hear this! I lost my brother in law on Easter Day last year. It was pretty hard on the family. We miss him!

That's what I had on my index, thumb and middle on both hands. I got those under control but the dry and hangnails I'm still working on.

But I found these extra large gloves so I'm sealing hem up for while each day when I can. I'm even able to TalkBass through them on my phone.

And when I choke idiots there's no evidence!!!! Win win!

Have you tried the glove thing overnight?

bag balm, udder cream, or Vaseline petroleum jelly. Try any of these underneath disposable gloves for a 1/2 hr or so. If that doesn't work you may need to see a dermatologist and try a prescription cream.

Use cotton or some fabric that breathes if you're going to do it overnight.

More filing of nails(keeping them short) and skin around nails keeping everything smooth. A bit of trimming with small nail clippers of skin build of on right side of right thumb. Rub some more Aquaphor into cuticles.

All still good. No cracks.

my fingers were cracking, peeling and painful, too. after reading this thread, i ordered corn huskers lotion, but found the fragrance was a LOT stronger than it used to be, so i ordered O'Keeffe's Working Hands Hand Cream, and i'm impressed as this product does what it says. i'm applying it 4x per day and all the peeling and cracking is gone - the pain was gone the first day i applied it. and as a bonus, it's unscented.
