Seriously, I mean it’s a great way to get attention but is that the kind of attention that’s warranted?

Hey I resemble some of those stereotypes. It's funny but it's a bad approach for weeding out people that aren't right. All you gotta say is "I need people that can get 45 songs down cold in a month and who want to gig up to 14 times a month, here's a link to my youtube channel so you can check out my chops." Done, flakes not interested in real work.

Apparently he found his 80s rockstar drummer using this technique, compliments folks for finding humor in the post - while then going on to condescend to, and further insult the local ABQ community again... Not sure if he's going to find the attractive models and PhD audience he's looking for to attend his coverband shows - LOL

The other thing that gets me - he seems to want LA A-list players willing to work in a don't have to quit your day job band in a town which may be charming but may not be the hottest place on the music scene.

I'm always curious about why a band often states "NO EGOS" as a requirement? As if musicians with egos recognize that they have overbearing egos, or that there are bands out there without egos at all? to me it's always been a bit of a red flag and telling. People who want to be on stage, be entertainers, invariably come with egos. which isn't necessarily a bad thing. An ego, especially in an LS or LG, can get of control and ruin things, of course, but we all have the egos and that often makes for confident performers who learn the material well, and who give a great performance.

I've never worked with any LS who really had it going on who didn't have a significant ego. It's almost part and parcel to being good at the position.
