My 1973 Telestar short scale bass that my parents bought me at Murphy's mart for about thirty dollars has to be up there.
Same for me. But I'm pretty sure it was more like $70. Unless you got yours used.
A Fender Squier Vintage Modified Jazz Bass Fretless......HUGE hunk of crap!! Now I do like the the new Squier basses, really I do, but this one had to be built by a newbie at the factory. Looked like a blind man leveled the fretboard, there were dents in the body that were done BEFORE finishing. And it just sounded awful. I've heard dog farts with better tone!
Most people won't believe me, but it was a Warwick Thumb 4 string. It was set up well & the neck was straight, but it just felt like ass. Too chunky, dead-sounding & looked like a turd on a stick.
