Guitarist dating the other guitarist/vocal's ex girlfriend and getting caught having $3x since they were room mates................................................
One of the drummers for a band I was in quit calling us for practice. When confronted about it he complained that summer was here, and because of that he wanted to play World of Warcraft all day long.
Cool.
It's sad. I've lost friends to WoW too (not band related however). That pretty much happened to me last year with one of my friends. We were in a jazz quartet and he started playing starcraft and later wow. Slowly it took over his life, it was like one of those movies about the dangers of drug addiction. He ended up dropping all of his music classes (4/5 of his classes) and I ended up losing a close friend.
Bands don't need reasons to break up ... it happens ...
Didn't break up the band, but a guitarist who auditioned was someone I recognized from a porno I'd seen. He did not get the gig. I wouldn't have been able to play on stage with him. I'd have been laughing too much. If he had already been in the band before any of us had seen his "side project" it would have broken up the band for sure.
I started a band once so I could date the drummer (yes, it was a she). When the band got going a little bit she didn't want to date me anymore because she didn't want us dating to interfere with the band. I didn't want to be in the band if I wasn't dating her so I broke it up!
the things we do for love . . .
