That was definitely the case for me. The very first fEARful I heard was the 1212/6/1 that I built. Fortunately I wasn't disappointed.
It is very difficult to make an objective comparison between cabinets even when you have them side by side, as the time lag in switching cables and adjusting volume to compensate for varying efficiency leaves a lot of room for imagination. I have tried to compare my fEARfuls to my SVT cabs, and it is difficult, if not impossible to quantify the subtle things. I thought about making a switcher that would switch between cabs and simultaneously make gain adjustments via the effects loop of my amp, but in the end decided I just wasn't that curious. The fEARfuls scored big points for me on the obvious, especially the dispersion and low freq extension, so I'll let someone else that's more curious build a proper test rig.
