I think they are pretty much a custom order, so there is little impulse buying...

I just received my first Crazy 8, courtesy of Don Barry, Barry Audio Design. It's very silly. Silly how small it is and how good it sounds. With a couple of minor tweaks I had it sounding very similar to my Acme Full Range. Understandably, it didn't sound quite as gut wrenching down low, but it was pretty darn full, deep, and loud for a tiny box. I can only imagine what a Crazy 88 would sound like

I just received my first Crazy 8, courtesy of Don Barry, Barry Audio Design. It's very silly. Silly how small it is and how good it sounds. With a couple of minor tweaks I had it sounding very similar to my Acme Full Range. Understandably, it didn't sound quite as gut wrenching down low, but it was pretty darn full, deep, and loud for a tiny box. I can only imagine what a Crazy 88 would sound like

Try a (theoretical) crazy 888888 (six 8's) version at 5.3 Ohms. 1200W, 102 dB/W sensitivity. It would be smaller than most 6 10's but probably outperform most as well. Thinking of building something crazy....
I had the same impression with the wizzy 10. If the 88 competes with two wizzy 10's I'll be happy. If, like Mike says, it's better, I may just have to give myself a hug.
Six 8PR200s? Or something else?
BTW, just wondering how the math works for eight 8 ohm drivers to get to 5.3 ohms? Understand 8 & 8 = 4 or 16 (three times), but don't know where to go from there.

Please explain a bit more. So, what, one set of three drivers in parallel (2.67), then a second set of three drivers in parallel (again 2.67), then the two sets of three drivers each in series?

Three in parallel gives 2.67. Another three in parallel gives 2.67. Put those two sets of threes in series for 5.3.
Pulled the trigger on a composite 88 from Mike about a week ago!
Now, which amp ... Genz Benz Shuttle 3.0, 6.2 or Streamliner 600 ???????
... or maybe one of those new Tone Hammer 350s.
I use a custom P/J fretless and poor man's Rob Allen (Godin A4 ).

I had a 88 from Mike for a few days till we determined that
it was not quite loud enough to keep up with my drummer
as a single cab solution. This cab is very accurate and warm
in its midrange so I would think the shuttlemax would be perfect.The Aguilar has a nice low mid thing going but may be
overkill with the character of the 88. I would also consider
the tecamp puma 5OO. You will freak when you pick up
the composite 88 and then hear how much air it moves!

I ordered the 88, to fit two gigs I do, on a weekly basis. Both with a drummer, without PA support, both in small meeting rooms, (seats about 50 - 75) low ceilings, block walls and aweful, (boomy) acoustics. I started out using my Shuttle 3.0 10T but found that with the drummer, I wasn't able to keep up. Next, I tried the Shuttle 3.0 with one of my Berg AE112s and found that it gives me more than enough clean volume. Based on that, I think that the 88 will cut it, in terms of volume, and its tight bottom end might be a real plus in those venues. I also have a Shuttle 6.2 and have been using it with the AE 112. It's ok too. I really like the parametric eq on both of those amps, especially when faced with venues like these.
For larger venues I have been using two Berg AE112s, combined with a Streamliner 600 or the Shuttle 6.2. A larger venue to me is 150 - 350 people in a church, normally with good acoustics (with or without pa support), community hall, theatre or outdoor event.
I also have a TC112 on order; thinking that it will be a good fit for the larger gigs I do.
So ... my goal is to have two rigs, maximizing tone and minimizing weight.
I like what I have heard and read about the Pumas, but the lack of Canadian distribution and support breaks the deal for me.

six 8PR200's seems like a good idea
I would not wire the 8 ohms as a three in parallel (2.67ohms) and then series link them to get 5.3 ohms because if one driver fails, the entire half will go open circuit, you are then down to three drivers and the impedance drops to 2.67 putting the amp at risk, particularly as it would draw more current at a given volume setting.Wire them in pairs in series to make three lots of 16 Ohms (becomes 5.3 ohms overall). If a driver fails it only takes out two drivers, and it drops from 6 to 4 working drivers and the impedance goes up from 5.3 to 8 Ohms without risk to the amplifier (volume and risk would self limit too).
