Crikey, Steve Irwin dead

Steve Irwin to me was a chance to see and understand things a bit more than I ever could on my own.

He brought our family together in many ways. We joke around in an Australian accent about our dog or even eachother. I tell my wife "she has a cute bum" and the whole nine yards. Call me crazy, but for me an institution in our home has passed on. This personally ranks up there with how I felt about the passing of Johnny Carson, simply a very welcome guest into my home has passed on. Though only a TV star, it is like my kids favorite uncle has passed away. Truly sad!

The worst part is that this was a really freak accident, there are few people that end up at the emergency each year with stingray stings to lower limbs when they step on them in the shallows but this is only third time that someone has actually died form a sting. Last two being an allergic reaction. It must have got him around the heart somewhere and the poison basically causes necrosis and would cause heart attack in his case.:(

Aww man this totally sucks. Steve was a hero of mine, a hero to many I suppose! He really got me interested in modern nature and zoology, and he did so much for conservation around the world. Yeah, he was a showman and he took calculated risks every day, but I've enver seen anyone do it with such skill and precision. I've heard people say that one day, this would happen, but I really didn't think it would and in his heart, I don't think Steve did either. He would never go too far, where showmanship becomes foolish. He knew what he had, a family, a duty to the people of the world to educate them on what he loved, a wildlife park to run, all sorts.

He's fought hippos, Crocs, Alligators, all sorts of poisonous snakes, and he's been killed by a Stingray? It defies belife! I heard the news on the show This Morning, where they talked to Nigel Marvin (another ace wildlife lover) who was obviously also very upset.

Sad times, the world has lost a great man. :crying:

I miss him already. He was always so full of life, and always put you in a happy mood.

The sad part: the documentary he was filming at the time was called Deadly Sea-Creatures.
.

Well, they got that title right then!! :hmm:

Very sad for his family...:(

But as people have been saying - he died doing what he loved....
