Crikey, Steve Irwin dead

Stinky. I always stopped on Steve when I was channel surfing anywhere that had cable. I remember the first time I saw him doing the "World's 10 Deadliest Snakes" (before he had the "Croc Hunter" show) almost 10 years ago. It was the middle of the night and I was supposed to be studying for finals and I couldn't stop watching this dude play with snakes and crack me up with his antics.

Very sad news. Steve was one of a kind. He would scare the hell out of you and make you laugh at the same time. His dedication and contribution to wildlife and the education and awareness he brought to all of us will be truly missed.

RIP

He was amazingly watchable for the kind of work he did. While he got his message across, he did it in a entertaining and interesting way. He never lost his smile, and he never lost his cool. He brought in his dog, then his wife, and eventually his whole family and you felt you really got to know the guy.

Really wish he woulda beat all the odds for a while longer so his son could learn from his father.

That's very unfortunate. I'm really sorry to see him go - he was so young and had a great career and life ahead of him. He seemed very educated and concerned with the environment and the habitats of animals, which he genuinely seemed to love.

:(:(

It happened while filming a documentary so someone, somewhere out there has his death on tape. How long before some sicko emails it around the world? I for one won't watch it!

The cameras, thankfully, weren't rolling. Apparently, Steve just went out for a swim. No chance of morbid onlookers watching him die.

My family watches his shows on a regular basis. He will be missed in our household.

RIP.

I saw that show here in the uk too. When he was chasing the baby snake across the road, that had me in stitches.

Wow!! Total bummer. My deepest regards to his family!!
First time I saw him, I couldnt help but think " dayumm that boys is crazy" LOL.Me and my kids learned alot from him.He will be missed by many, many.

One of, if not the most famous australian ever to have lived. I don't think anyone's spent the last 10-12 years odd without making at least one Steve Irwin related joke. he was a legend, with a wonderful take on life, and its probably how he would have wanted to die.

I can't help but feel for his wife and kids though :(

RIP Steve...
