Crown XLS802 vs XTI2000

Hey guys and gals.

I'm slowly putting my rack together, and am looking for a power amp. One that I can buy and say "I wont have to do that again!"

AKA: H E A D R O O M!!!!!

I have a line on both of these amps. The 2ohm stability is pushing me to the XTI, but the price keeps the XLS in the running.

XLS802 for $240

XTI2000 for $475

Where would your cash go between those 2?

(open to other suggestions as well, but I am indeed set on a pre/power setup, and would like to be around 500w RMS *ohm stereo)

Find a Carvin DCM2500. They are 500 per side at 8 ohms, and they will do it with authority! If your a guy who really wants a huge bottom, stick with the old lead sled! If you just want low mids, then the lite weights are fine. But IMHO, are no match for the old lead sleds. Now lets sit back and listen to all the guys who will want to challenge that statment, but do yourself a favor. Get both and go out where you can really crank them both up and listen to them for yourself, and make your own decisions.

I'd go with the Crown XTI ... the advantage is you get some EQ features and also you can set up some limiting features that are not found in the XLS amp ...and you also can use you PC and do some custom EQing with the band manager program ... I don't use the Crown XTI as a bass guitar power amp .... but I use the amp to drive the P.A speakers

Cheapest I can find right now is $499. Still an amazing deal! I thought the XLS Drivecore's were gonna be a LOT more bank than that.

I may have made up my mind here...

xti2000 = $439 shipped---- http://cgi.ebay.com/Crown-xti2000-X...emQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item45f109946c

the listing says B-stock but they have always sent me new A-Stock ones for that price or slightly less. (got my first one from them for $399, my second one for $419, and my third one for $429- all of them A-Stock NIB)

Killer prices on the XTI for sure, but I was speaking about the new XLS2000 you mentioned.
