Good point, Southern rock is usually fairly loud with 2 guitarist like the Almighty Hatchet. Not sure they even have one song that has acoustic guitar on it.

Bass player and drummer needed for Aoustic Southern Rock Artist in Nashville,Tn. Need palyer that can learn fast, play it right and want to do it more for the love of the music than the love of the money.

These guys must be awesome musicians. They need someone who can work quickly and accurately because they're serious and committed, and that's how they do it. They care about music, which is what musicians SHOULD care about. Too many people doing it these days for the wrong reasons. This is what I've been looking for. Yee-hah!

Must be secure and stable enough to not have to worry whether thay make 40 bucks a night or 100. Must be willing to start at the bottom and work thier way to the top...Not the other way around.

Awesome. I can get in on the ground floor with these talented guys. Then I'll really be a part of the whole thing, we'll be a team, and with us caring more about the music than the money we'll only be able to go up. This is an attitude that can only be successful! Can only turn out good. I'm totally willing to put the hours necessary into learning this guy's songs exactly as he's written and recorded them, because I love music. And I'm a giving person, too. It maked me feel good to do this.

Playing for the love of music as opposed to playing for money is a common, clear cut request.

I love music so much that I also place a financial value to it.

Even If I was a multi- million from my straight career I would not play free gigs.

Doesn't sound like this is the opportunity for you. There are other bands that will pay you for your skill and hard work.

I think people are reading too much into it. It means what it means. There are a lot of people who think you should get top dollar, even before you've established any kind of track record.

It just doesn't work that way.

Then the ad is really for guys just entering the scene.

What decent local veteran, experience bass guitarist would have any interest in this type of entry level, questionable opportunity?

You're reading too much into it. The ad means what is written there, and that is all you can objectively state. Subjectively, the ad could be interpreted as literally anything, including the second coming of Christ, if one so desired/persisted. If you don't like the ad, don't apply for the slot. It looks reasonable enough to me, someone has written what they want in a musician into a classified ad and posted it. Am I not mistaken in saying that they have every right to utilise the service to do just that? If someone went for it and it turned out badly, then it is a combination of their responsibility for taking the plunge and just plain on bad luck.

You can't judge a book by its cover. You can however start a thread about how stupid a potentially reasonable book is, based on the cover. Such is the degenerative nature of the internet/many people.
