Curious: Does anyone make a bass with a "V-Neck" profile anymore?

Years ago, I briefly owned an old Fender Tele bass that had pronounced V-neck. The neck *totally* defied what I normally prefer (very thin neck profiles) but was strangely very comfortable to play, particularly for simple tunes where staying hard in one area was required...

Since then, I have yet to see a bass with that neck profile. Does anyone make those anymore?

Once owned a 55 P bass with a pronounced V profile. Loved it and never played one like it since. On my last 2 customs I decided to add the profile myself to Warmoth maple necks. The results are just what I was after.

Strange design.... Seems like it would add muscle work to squeeze strings.... Defies my Warwick with a D neck being the easiest to play and most comfy of them all

The only thing I've seen myself are early Fullerton era '58 AV reissues. I've played two and the soft V up around the headstock part of the neck was strangely comfortable, at least for a few minutes playing time.

That's thats the funny thing - it WAS comfy. Not great for the traditional "cupping" the neck thing, but it made for a really nice, even play to rest your thumb - and by it's shape seemed to encourag better technique.

I know B. Hefner guitars offers a V profile for his bass necks.

I used to have an early-80s Washburn Force 8 with a V-profile neck. Definitely the most comfortable neck I ever played.

Still have a '57 P I bought back in the mid '70s. (It stays in the closet these days; hanging onto it as a memento.) That has a V neck.

Yeah--the V shape feels more comfortable than you'd expect from looking at it. But I'm completely happy with the modern neck contour on the Will Lee 5 I'm gigging these days.

The only "V" neck I've owned was a G&L Comanche six banger. Hated it. I didn't keep it long.

i love a v neck profile. my first instrument, a sigma acoustic guitar, had a pretty hard v neck. then years went by and never saw much of v necks. as i got older, i started to have wrist issues on my fretting hand. then i found a recording king acoustic with a v, and it was fantastic, no pain at all.

i have switched to only short scale, which also helped. i have a squier jag ss, most hardware on it upgraded. i am now getting a new neck made, thats going to be a v, in padauk and ebony.

I like a hard V profile on a guitar, but I don't think my hands are big enough for it to be comfortable on bass. My thumb bends over the V when chording on guitar.

Some of the Japanese Fender '51 Precision reissues that I've played have had what I would call an "almost V" profile. It's mostly a C, but starts to get a little V-ed out near the nut. I don't have that shape on mine, but my friend's blue flower model has a pretty pronounced V near the nut and I've played a few others that had it. It's a nice neck profile. I believe Warmoth will do what they call a "boat neck" profile, which is basically a soft V. Pretty sure Rick Kelly at Carmine Street/Kelly guitars will do a hard V if you ask for it.

My Godin A4 has what I'd call a 'medium V' profile.
It's about 6 years old. Don't know if they're still using that profile.
